About ALIS
"Take action and reALISe your dreams" - that was the goal for Albert Hatchwell and Isabelle Hammerich when they established ALIS in 1996. The ALIS brand is a combination of the two names.
Since then ALIS has evolved from the underground movement in Copenhagen’s infamous freetown Christiania to a business that represents opportunity and inspiration.
Handing out stickers and T-shirts to skaters, DJs, break dancers and graffiti artists plus supporting countless independent events, contests and shows is ALIS’ way of supporting its familiar scene.
Highlights from those early days include “SubKult“—an 18-day hiphop/graffiti festival in 1996, Scandinavian Open 2002 skate contest and the construction of Christiania’s world famous Wonderland skate facility.
Wonderland started as a pioneer project funded by ALIS. The construction was done by skaters from all over—including Flip’s superstars Tom Penny and Justin Ashby. Wonderland is free and always open. Whether it’s a bowl contest, a party or a film premiere, Wonderland is the place to be.
ALIS is an integrated part of Denmark and Christiania. As a manifestation of Christiania’s original spirit, ALIS is living the dream. In cooperation with countless world-class designers, photographers, musicians and artists, they have released many collections of men’s and women’s wear plus skateboards that are now available all over Europe.
Always true to its underground roots ALIS has emerged as one of Europe’s top streetwear/skate fashion brands.
Look for the ALIS team;
Nicky Guerrero, Flex O’Connor, Thomas Roupé, Dannie Carlsen, Bjørn Lillesøe, Djani Ariston and Ville Wester—they’re probably ripping shit up right now.
In April 2006 ALIS opened their first shop in Denmark, exposing their universe to the rest of Denmark and indeed, the World.
ALIS remains 100% independent, and keep on moving the game forward supporting the underground. Everything big starts out small, remember?
